Infant Care and Toddler Care

We offer 5 day, 3 day, and 2 day programs

Infant and toddler will be in groups of nine with a ratio of one staff member to five children. Toddler acquire an amazing number of skills between age 1 to 3. Language, mobility, increasing independence…children also being to work on toileting and impulse control. Little star Child Care Center, support toddler’s emotional, physical and cognitive development by providing routines and rituals that are consistent, comfortable and attuned to individuals’ needs and interests.
Activity will include a daily art project, music, self-help skills, stories, math, alphabet, language, sensory/ discovery. computer learning games, manipulative to help develop fine gross motor skill, outdoor activity and much more. The children will follow a daily schedule, which is posted in the classroom for the parent to view. A daily note be provided so that we keep our communication open as much as possible.

Curriculum and Activity

Early Learning curriculum is based on several key ideas:
1. Children learn through play in both their learning experiences and their environment.
2. Daily routines and meaningful experiences enhance children’s learning.
3. Children develop every day in five main areas of developments: health and physical development, social and emotional development, language development and communication, approaches to learning and cognition and general knowledge.
4. Literacy and language development are encouraged daily in the classroom.
5. Opportunities for exploration and discovery encourages children to love learning.
6. A Strong classroom community -learning environment enable children to develop confidence,
creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skill.
7.  The teaching staff use developmentally appropriate practice in the classsroom and take advantage of teachable moments.
8. The teaching staff make adjustments in thier teachimh to meet the strengths, needs and interests of individual child.
9. Postive reinforcements and guidance is nacessary for building relationships with children.
10. parents partnerships are a key ingredient to child care/school success.

Observation

We value your child’s experiences. When your child start at Little Star Center observation will occur throughout their time here. This will help us provide the best care academically and socially for you child. We respect each child as an individual and set up their goals accordingly.

Progress Reports

Progress reports which evaluate children’s development are performed by the teacher and send home to the parents twice per years. Progress reports are to show you whether your child is able to perform necessary skills or need improvement.
